Michael Massey

May 6, 1961 - May 13, 2016

Waterville, ME - Michael Massey, 55, of Waterville, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is now at peace in the arms of the Lord.

Mike was born on May 6, 1961, in Waterville, Maine, son of Donald and Patricia (Gagne) Massey. He was a graduate of Winslow High School and earned his LCSW, in which he became a substance abuse counselor and did that for many years. Mike enjoyed spending time with his only son Brian whom he adored. Together they shared a love for many outdoor activities, including hunting and going to the shooting range, fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and attending family functions. Mike devoted several years of his life helping others against the battle of addiction, having worked for MGMC's Serene Program and the methadone clinic in Waterville. He then continued this work out of his home for many years.

Mike leaves behind his devoted son, Brian Massey; parents, Donald and Patricia Massey; sister Brenda Massey-Labbe; brother Todd Massey and wife Cheryl; nieces Brittney Massey-Labbe and Kayla Massey and nephew Kurt Massey.

He was predeceased by his brother Bruce Massey; brother-in-law Todd Labbe; maternal grandparents Obelia and Arthur Gagne; and paternal grandparents MaryAnne and Louis Massey.
