Ernestine Elnora McKinnon

Waterville – Ernestine E. “Tina” McKinnon, 86, of Waterville, formerly of Winslow, died Friday March 25, 2016 in Augusta. She was born on April 25, 1929 in Jonesport, ME, a daughter of Elizabeth and George Alley. She graduated from Jonesport High School.

In 1949, Tina married Donald McKinnon and they lived in Jonesport for two years before moving to Franklin where they would raise their two sons. Tina was active in the Franklin Baptist Church Ladies’ Guild and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. In 1971 she and Don moved to Winslow.

Through the years Tina was a devoted wife, mother and home maker who was caring and compassionate. She will be remembered for her talent and love of making desserts; be they pies, cakes, cookies, puddings, cupcakes or fudge – they were all delicious. She saw beauty in thimbles and collected spoons.

Tina is survived by her two sons: Gary McKinnon and his wife Carol of Oakland and their two children: Steffanie McKinnon and her fiancé Wil Stevens of Winslow and Brian McKinnon and his fiancée Jessica Ames of Sidney; Dennis McKinnon and his wife Elizabeth and their daughter Eilidh of NH; her nephew Dana Urquhart and his wife Carol of Jonesboro and her niece Darlene Wood and her husband Cecil of Machiasport. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2004 and her sister Millie Urquhart and her husband Millard.
