Born March 19, 1914, in Winslow, Maine, he spent the early years of adulthood working for ice cream businesses in the Waterville area. In 1952, he moved his family to Berwick and fulfilled his dream by opening the Dairy Dandy, a soft serve ice cream business. In 1954, he opened Vigue’s Luncheonette, a family restaurant in Berwick. While in Berwick, he was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He retired in 1986, spending winters with his wife in Hawaii or Florida or Myrtle Beach. He returned to the Waterville area in the late 1990’s and was a communicant of Notre Dame Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Corinne, on April 25, 2005.
Surviving members of his family include his son, Dr. Robert Vigue and his wife, Charlene, of Sanford, Maine; his son, Ronald Vigue and his wife, Joyce, of Berwick, Maine; and his daughter, Carol MacVey and husband, Alan, of Iowa City, Iowa. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond Veilleux, of Belgrade, Maine. He was predeceased by 4 brothers and a sister.
Funeral services and burial will occur in the spring.
