Zoraida Rodriguez

Zoraida Rodriguez of Salisbury Mills, NY peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 26, 2015 at her home with her loving husband Emilio by her side. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on August 25, 1945 to her late parents, Carmen and Pedro Juan Martino. Zoraida was predeceased by 5 of her siblings: Wolfrando Martino, Pedro Martino, Nelson Martino, Norma Bonet, Carmen Nilsa Martino. She is survived by her sister Evelyn Sanchez. Zoraida and Emilio met when they were young adults. They have been married for 49 wonderful years and have four children: Emile Rodriguez and his wife Jennifer, Philip Rodriguez and his wife Carrie, Christina Ortega and her husband William and Lesley Valerius and her husband Phillip. They have five grandchildren that were the light of Zoraida’s life. Felicia Rodriguez, Lexi Rodriguez, Hunter Rodriguez, Ethan Ortega, and Tyler Ortega will miss their Grandmother as she always made each of them feel special every time they were in her presence. She always took great care of them and always made them laugh. Zoraida loved to go on cruises and to spend time with her family as much as possible. She and Emilio made it to as many sporting activities, concerts and school events as they could for each of their grandchildren. Family was always her priority. She and Emilio are active members of the New Harvest Christian Church. They have attended this church for several years and truly enjoyed all of the time spent surrounded by friends who treated them like family. A Christian service will be held at New Harvest Christian Church located at 1230 Route 94, Vails Gate, NY 12584 on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 1pm.
