A lifelong union supporter, Bob was a member of Locals 269 and 373 of the Plumber and Steamfitters Union since 1951. He served as Recording Secretary and Business Manager to Local 269 for 20 years, and as a Trustee of Locals 269 and 373 since 1960. He was proud for establishing the pension fund for members of Local 269 for whom he cared deeply.
Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church since 1945 serving as a lectern and a lifelong usher, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 5890. He also served in the National Guard and as a Constable for the Town of Cornwall.
An avid fisherman and boater, some of Bob’s most enjoyable times were spent on the water. Bob took great pride in his blueberry and raspberry bushes which he nurtured with great care. He loved gardening and hunting, but one of his greatest pleasures was leading his wife Ginny around the dance floor where they often caused others to simply stop, watch, then applaud.
Bob was a warm, loving family man of tremendous faith. All who knew him loved him and he never uttered an ill word towards anyone. He will be sorely missed.
