My deepest condolences on the loss of your father.  I remember going with Shelly to her kindergarten and crying when Uncle Paul and Dad showing up late to pick us up. Then we went to a company picnic and, at our fathers instance, we ran in the kids races. 
Paul came to Alaska to visit and hunt. Mostly to hunt I think.  They were dropped out in the middle of nowhere on a mountain side.  As the plane was on the way back to pick them up, they shot several deer.  The plane had to come back later as they were still field dressing the animals. 
But mostly I remember his kindness and compassion and support when Dad died. He came to Montana and accompanied the body back to West Virginia.
Your dad was a true Lipscomb- football, hunting and fishing.

Where do I start, I start with I love you! I believe you will be with us always.  Your physical presence in gone your spirt and memories will be with us forever. 

I proud to say I inherited your quick wit, sarcastic attitude,    love of all sports with the exception of NASCAR... still don’t think it a real sport, We always agreed on most political platforms but not on which NY sport teams we liked.  You were Jets-Mets.... I liked the winning clubs Yanks- Giants.   However I am glad  the last baseball game you saw , the Mets won... that doesn’t happen offen. Life will be different with you! 
I will miss you and always love you! 

This news really shocks and deeply saddens me.  We grew up together in the tiny coal camp of Barton, now known as Curtin. We were more like brothers then. Roaming the hills and streams , playing ball and doing lots of stupid things that you would probably get locked up for today. Every day was a new adventure. Fly fishing was his forte. It was in his family DNA. I have  to add a humorous note to his legacy. Probably not many people remember this incident, but it occurred in his very first high school football game. We were playing Philippi High School at their place. The field was on top of Broaddus Hill overlooking the town. The field was also their baseball diamond. There was barely room for a football field and it was surrounded by a wooden fence. Early in the game, our opponents had us backed up inside our own one yard line on 4th down.  Paul was our long snapper on punts. He enters the  game for his first ever play.  The adrenaline is flowing.  He snaps the football over our punters head and over the wooden fence and it didn’t stop until it rolled 200 yards down the mountain into the Tygart River  below. We were forever joking about him making the longest snap in recorded history. He went on to have a stellar high school football career, who by the way also became an excellent punter. And believe he earned a football scholarship to Marshall University. I now feel very fortunate that I got to spend time with my old friend and his late sister Kay last summer when we were both in town. Hadn’t seen either for several years. We spent several hours at Kay’s house reminiscing old times. I’ll treasure that time the rest of my life. Rest In Peace . I loved him like a brother. Condolences to family and all who were fortunate enough to have as a friend. 

I met Paul shortly after he purchased his home in Cooks Falls next to my parents. From the first very time Paul and I spoke it seemed like we'd known one another for years. A very easy man to talk with, great sense of humor and the best neighbor anyone could ask for. He was always ready & willing to help, regardless of the task. He was a good man gone too soon. God Bless and Godspeed, Paul, and my the Lord ease the grief of those who cherish your memory and remember how your presence made life a little better.
