Patrick F. Griffin

Patrick F. Griffin of Washingtonville, NY entered into rest on February 15, 2011 at Manhattan VA. He was 80. He was born in Bronx, NY on August 28, 1930 to Patrick J. Griffin and Ellen Twomey. Patrick was a retired Post Master for USPS in Campbell Hall, NY. Patrick was the widower of Patricia F. Griffin who he was devoted to for 52 years. He was a communicant at St. Mary’s Church and a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society of St. Mary’s Church. Patrick volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a Korean War Veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who lived for his family. He is survived by his children Frances S. Carlson and Roy of Cocoa, FL, Patrick J. Griffin and Mary of Middletown, NY, John F. Griffin and Angie of Fishkill, NY, Theresa E. Vite of Washingtonville, NY, Thomas R. and Dawn Griffin of Campbell Hall, NY and Donald M. Griffin of Montgomery, NY; sister, Mary Mack of Monroe, NY; grandchildren, Kelly and Scott Vite, Sarah Carlson, Patrick and wife Corinne Griffin, Sean, Meaghan, Haley and Kyle Griffin; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Connor and Aidan Vite and many nieces, nephews and former daughter in law Peggy Griffin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17 from 7-9pm and Friday, February 18 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, Washingtonville, NY. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, February 19, 10 am at St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Washingtonville, NY.
