James was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 2, 1925, to the late James and Assunto Orio Nasso. James was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and an all-around family man; anyone who came in contact with him was honored and grateful to have had the privilege to know him and he was very grateful for the friends that he met.
James loved to work with wood and made many items for his children and grandchildren that will last for generations. James was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of the Purple Heart Society, who loved talking about his time in the service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Florence Nasso of Salisbury Mills, NY; his children, James and his wife, Susan Nasso of Bellmore, NY and Nancy and her husband, Michael Oltedal of Dorset, VT; grandchildren, James and his wife, Jackie Nasso of Merrick, NY, Thomas and his wife, Shane Nasso of Farmingdale, NY, Daniel Nasso and his fiance, Samantha Scuch of Long Beach, NY, Elisa, and her husband, Brian McDonald of Flagstaff, AZ and Nicole and her husband, Jessie Merrill of Dorset, VT; eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY 10992. A Graveside service will be held, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
