Grace A. Stevens, 95, a lifelong resident of Maybrook, New York, peacefully entered into rest on Sunday, July 24, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Percy & Fannie Deyo and the widower of Charles E. Stevens.
Grace exemplified the spirit of volunteerism and community dedication. In her quiet & unassuming manner she served over 30 years with the Board of Elections, coordinating Orange County, Village of Maybrook, Fire District and School elections in the community; while serving as Chairperson for all those volunteer election positions. She also served as the Village of Maybrook Historian for a number of years. Grace was honored to be the recipient of a Certification of Appreciation Award by Mayor Joseph Dineen in 2005. As a member of the Maybrook United Methodist Church, much enjoyment was realized by her as she served actively on many committees & as a Trustee. Whether a fund raising dinner, the rummage sales, or a special church celebration, she was always there to lend a hand.
