Edmond Gerard Fitzgerald

Edmond Gerard Fitzgerald, a beloved member of the New Windsor community, passed away on June 24, 2023, at the age of 50, surrounded by his loving family. Edmond was born in the Bronx, New York, to Ann (McGovern) and Edmond Fitzgerald. He graduated from Brewster High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh, NY.

Edmond, known as Ed or Fitzy to his friends, was an active member of his community, having coached youth football and basketball. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed watching his sons Ryan (19), Brady (17), and Mason (12) play sports. Edmond was a Supervisor with Orange and Rockland Utility, and prior to that, he worked with Verizon for 17 years.

Edmond is survived by his wife of 23 years, Wendy (Updike), his sons Ryan, Brady and Mason, his parents Ann (McGovern) and Edmond Fitzgerald, brother Brian (Christine), sister Wendy (Conor), mother and father in-law Larry and Sue Updike, brother in-law Dan Updike (Nancy), niece Ashlinn, and nephews Kiernan, Joshua, Ronan, and Eamon. He also leaves behind many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

A visitation for Edmond will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at David T Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992. A mass of Christian burial will occur on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St Mary's Church, 42 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville, New York 10992. A burial will follow at St Mary's Cemetery, 2 Fr Tierney Circle, Washingtonville, New York 10992.
