David Joseph Heintz

David J. Heintz, 74, passed away in his home in Beulaville, North Carolina, on August 12, 2023. David was preceded in death by his mother, Mae, father, Fredrick, brother Johnny, and several friends and family members. David is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; his daughter Ayesha and her husband, Jeff; his son Thomas and his wife, Nicole; his four grandchildren, Devin, Grayson, Callie, and Nico; his dog, Minnie; and many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. David was born in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Washingtonville, NY, where he spent most of his life. David proudly served in the United States Navy. He retired from the United States Postal Service and the Village of Fishkill Police Department. From 2005-2016, David devoted his time to his neighbors by serving as a Village Trustee and Mayor. David was a member of the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary 8691, Knights of Columbus, and Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Community.

Viewing services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 4-6 pm at Jones Funeral Home, 303 Chaney Ave, Jacksonville, NC 28540. Additional services will be held August 17, 2023, from 4-8 pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St. Washingtonville, NY 10992, and funeral procession will take place at Saint Mary's in Washingtonville (42 Goshen Ave, Washingtonville, NY 10992) on August 18 at 10 am with burial at Saint Mary’s cemetery. A reception will follow at VFW Post 8691(44 East Main Street, Washingtonville, NY 10992)
