William Frederick Weber III, 83, of Chevy Chase, MD, passed away from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) disease on September 26th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend.
Bill was a fourth-generation Washingtonian born, to Dorothy Graeves Weber and Donald Richard Weber. The family resided in Washington, D.C., and Bethesda, MD throughout his childhood. Bill attended The Landon School where he graduated in 1959. He had a passion for sports and earned varsity letters in football, soccer, and track. Growing up he spent summers at Sherwood Forest with his grandfather “Speed” where he learned to play golf, which became a lifelong passion. After graduating from The Landon School, he attended Dartmouth College and graduated in 1963. Soon after college Bill enlisted in the US Marine Corps and was active in duty through 1966. Bill returned home to assist his father in operating Weber’s White Trucks, an automotive truck dealership. This began his long, successful career as a dealer, owner, and operator. The company earned honors under his leadership as the highest volume sales leader for the US in 1979.
Bill met the love of his life, Karin, in 1970 and the couple married shortly after in Stuart, FL. They had two children, Clayton and Joanna. They resided in Bethesda and Chevy Chase, MD for many years, before retiring to Naples, FL. Besides golf, Bill was an avid reader, loved to play cards, travel the world, and spend time with his family. He was a long-time member of Columbia Country Club where he formed many close friendships.
Bill is survived by his wife Karin Gillespie Weber, his sister Tina Weber Manatos (Andy), his son Clayton Weber (Kathleen), his daughter Joanna Rieger (Mike), and his six grandchildren (Christian, Cullen, Kirsten, and Cameron Weber, and Madeline and Elizabeth Rieger).
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 7th at All Saints Church, 3 Chevy Chase Circle, Chevy Chase, MD.
