Born in Miami Florida on November 14, 1976, Rawn James, Jr., died in Washington, D.C. March 3, 2025. Author and graduate of Yale University and Duke University School of Law, he published three books significantly adding to the body of scholarship illuminating the American struggle for equal rights: Root and Branch (2010), The Double V (2013), and The Truman Court (2021). He is survived by his wife Maureen, sons August and Charleston, parents Rawn and Sara, and sister Ashley (m. Tim), and a host of fraternity brothers and friends that miss his passionate voice.
