Pat Nash was the ultimate lady! She was cheerful, devout, funny, patient, and kind - all combined in one gal.  I so admired her as she unknowingly set an example for all of us moms.

Dear Nash Family,
We were so sorry to hear about the loss of a mother, wife, grandmother and dear friend to many people.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very sad time.

To Ellen, Mimi, James, Peg and all the Nash family, I will miss your mother greatly. She helped smooth over some difficult times growing up. She was kind and caring, a real treasure. I remember the trips to Martinsburg with the thank you mams and all the fun going to Martinsburg and Hunters Hardware. There are more fond memories then space to write them all down. Remember the joy, she will always be in our hearts

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She was a wonderful woman someone who always had time for others even with the large family of her own. I remember many a conversation with her in the alley behind the house when one or the other of us was heading out and also the times when she and Jim would invite me up on the front porch to sit and talk. 
Your mom was a very caring and compassionate person and I hope that you know that she instilled those qualities in each one of you.
I have the pleasure of knowing all of you either when we were in school at the same time or later when I worked and coached there and had the opportunity to spend time with the younger ones. I have always seen those qualities in you and I know that your mom and your dad must be very proud. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you work through this difficult time. P.S. I am soryy I could not be with you today to celebrate your mom's life but illness is keeping me home.

To Frank, Mr. Nash and the Family,
Mrs. Nash was the ultimate MOM and class mom to us all. She was truly sweet, kind, funny, energetic (mandatory to keep us the Nash kids), profoundly loving and wise. I enjoyed many great times at the Nash Home. 

I just found out and I regret that i cannot make the funeral in time. I will call and stop by when my family and i are in DC next week.

Dear Mimi and Nash Family,

Your mom will live on in my heart and in the hearts of so many others she touched with her love and kindness.  She made growing up on Quesada Street so special.  My husband and girls have heard all the stories from our rides in the station wagon to Chevy Chase Lake to boxing in the basement and late night sprinkler runs in the front yard. Your mom had the patience of a saint, a wonderful sense of humor, and wisdom beyond words.  I am so thankful to have had your mom in my life!

Pat was not only a beloved wife, adored mother and grandmother, but she was also a devoted daughter of the Church. The B.S. Sodality and Altar Guild flourished under her care. Throughout the past year at the Methodist Home, her reverent communions, her soft hymns to Our Lady, her whispered rosaries, all spoke of a deep faith.  No one could spend any time with Pat and not feel the joyful presence of Our Lord. How blessed we were to know her.

Our most sincere prayers are with the family.

 I haven't seen Mrs. Nash in a few years, but I have the fondest memories of her. We move to DC and across the street from the Nash home in 1962 when I was 4. Our Mom had just died, and Mrs. Nash took it upon herself to look out for the Cotter kids. Mrs. Nash was always kind, helpful and loving with us. And best of all, though she had plenty of opportunities, she never tattled on us.
 Our best to Peggy, Jimmy, George and all. There is no doubt that Mrs. Nash occupies a special place in heaven.
