Patricia Eva Howar

February 18,1934 – May 26,2017

Patricia E. Howar (Pat) was born in Washington, D.C., but she resided in Bethesda, Maryland. Ms. Howar died peacefully on the morning of May 26 ,2017 in Bethesda, MD.

Born to A. Joseph and Bader Howar of Washington, DC on February 18, 1934, Pat was the one of five children. Pat and Walter Helmig married and had four children – Patty, Cathy, Bob and Tim .

Pat’s greatest joy were her grandchildren – Mia and Cory Snyder and Camille, Charlotte and Billy Helmig. Pat loved sharing her time with her friends, playing tennis at Congressional Country Club and summers at the Jersey Shore.

Pat will always be remembered for her great smile, laughter, generosity and devotion to her family and friends.

Patricia Howar is survived by her four children, Patty Helmig, Cathy Snyder (Jay Snyder), Bob Helmig (Teffiny Helmig) and Tim Helmig (Claudia Helmig ) & her former husband, Walter R. Helmig (CA), five grandchildren, sisters Joyce Howar (Florida) and Nancy Howar O’Sullivan (George) of New York along with many nieces and nephews throughout the country.

The children of Patricia Howar invite family and friends for a celebration of Pat’s life at Congressional Country Club located at 8500 River Rd. Bethesda, Md. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 3:00 pm.
