Mary Alice McLaughlin (née Thomas), 74, passed away on February 15, 2022, at home after a long illness. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, she spent years working in radio broadcast management in Phoenix and New Orleans.
She is survived by daughter Mary McLaughlin and siblings Michael Thomas (Carolyn), Raye Thomas (Steve Miller), Bill Thomas (Jean) and Joe Thomas (Liz). She was preceded in death by her son Peter McLaughlin, parents Raymond and June Thomas, and siblings Robert Thomas and Jeanne Goetz.
Mary had an unending curiosity about people and the world. She adored stories in all their forms: novels and memoirs, movies and news broadcasts, and tales—both true and tall—told over glasses of wine. Mary did not go gently into that good night, enduring years of serious illness by finding something to learn or laugh about each day. She will be dearly missed.
A private funeral mass will take place in Buffalo on March 10th.
