On February 2, 2014, Joseph M. David of Washington, DC. Joseph was born December 8, 1943 to Joseph Michael and Mary David. He earned a Purple Heart in Vietnam while serving as a proud Captain in the United States Marine Corps. He held a life-long passion for the Fighting Irish after graduating from Notre Dame Law School. Joe retired as a partner after over 20 years with Jones Day Law Firm. He will be dearly missed by an extensive network of family and friends. He was the brother of Edward J. David (Mary Ellen). Also survived by nieces, Cynthia Pavlitsa (Mark), Jennifer Alvarez (Timothy) and their children Megan, Ryan, Connor, Gabriella, Nathaniel and Mackenzie. Family and friends are invited to Joseph Gawler's Sons, 5130 Wisconsin Ave. NW (corner of Harrison St.) Washington, DC on Wednesday, February 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew's Cathedral, 1725 Rhode Island Ave. NW, Washington, DC on Thursday, February 13, at 10 a.m. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
