On Wednesday, July 11, 2012, Joan Kuhn Guest of Washington, DC, passed peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on August 29, 1924, in Osage, IA. Devoted and loving wife of the late RADM Frank B. Guest Jr. USN; cherished mother of CAPT Frank B. (Linda) Guest III USN (Ret.), Richard M. (Christine Butler) Guest, Robert H. (Gloria Caprio) Guest, James B. (Stacy) Guest, Ellen L. (Alan) Nothwehr, Stephen R. (Karen) Guest, Joan G. (Robert) Allen, and the late Sr. Marcia Guest OSM; adored grandmother of 19; great grandmother of four; dear sister of seven; and godmother of four.
Visitations will be held at The Shrine of The Most Blessed Sacrament, 3630 Quesada Street, NW, Washington, DC 20015 on Sunday, July 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, July 16 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m., with a reception immediately afterward. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Servants of Mary, 7400 Military Avenue, Omaha, NE 68134.
