She graduated from George Washington University with her Bachelor of Arts. Gloria was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. While attending college, she met Leonard Grant. They would marry shortly after graduation and would spend 71 years together. They enjoyed traveling the world (nearly every continent and over 40 countries) and learned an appreciation of different cultures.
Gloria was the owner and operator of The Grapevine, an antique consignment store in Bethesda MD for over twenty years. She was an avid antique collector even after the store closed. Gloria was a member of the Washington Capital Speakers Club and worked as a docent at Hillwood Gardens in her later years before retiring.
Gloria has been preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Leonard Grant, and their son Richard Grant. She is survived by her daughter Susan Grant, daughter-in-law Sarah Grant, grandchildren Joel Van Goor and Jacqueline Van Goor, her sister Audrey Fleiger, and countless nephews and nieces.
Services will be held Wednesday September 6th, 2023, at 11:00 am at Joseph Gawler's Sons Funeral Home, 5130 Wisconsin Ave., Washington, DC 20016. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gloria's honor to Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinson.org)
