Elizabeth Duff Campbell died peacefully on February 3, 2016 at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington DC, at the age of 101. She was born in East Orange, NJ on April 26, 1914 to Elizabeth and Eugene Duff. Her beloved husband of 63 years, Donald L. Campbell, daughter, Mary Louise and infant son, Donald Eugene preceded her in death.
Mrs. Campbell was a resident of Short Hills, NJ for 50 years before moving to Bay Head, NJ in 1994. After losing her home in Superstorm Sandy in 2012, she moved to Chevy Chase, MD to be near her son and his family. There she made many new friends. Mrs. Campbell was a long time member of the Beacon Hill Club in Summit, NJ and the Bay Head Yacht Club. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Ladies Auxiliary and New Eyes for the Needy in Short Hills.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her son Michael and his wife Pamela of Chevy Chase, MD and two sisters, Mrs. John J. Palmer of Annapolis MD and Mrs. Michael Savage of Wellington, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 9, at 12 noon at the Church of the Little Flower, 5607 Massachusetts Ave. Bethesda, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children\'s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
