Such an amazingly wonderful friend, patriot, and public servant. I still grieve with all of the Costle-Tyler family. 

An amazing person in all respects.. A warrior for the environment and a beautiful dad & grandfather.  I was so honored to know him..

Doug and I met in the 9th grade, Lincoln High School in Seattle.  As teenagers we began one of those special friendships that, though years might pass between visits, when we did connect it was as though no time had passed.  But it had,  and so we would spend hours wandering through the streets of Manhattan from the West Village to Chelsea to  Gramercy Park up into Midtown  sharing the stories of our lives; the wonders and joys of our families and our dreams for the future.    

I will miss those visits Doug, but you will live on in our hearts  and in a lifetime of precious, precious memories.     




Doug was a level above.  He had an energy that separated him from others and he was fun to be around.  He attracted people who were like him and who had energy and imagination to make things happen.  I enjoyed working for Doug, and I certainly enjoyed working with the people that he attracted.  He made a difference.
