Camille Kendall, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025. Born on April 27, 1931, in Washington, D.C., Camille was a native Washingtonian for most of her life. Camille lived a life marked by devotion to family, faith, education, and the arts.
A proud graduate of Wilson Teachers College, Camille cherished the opportunity she had with higher education as she was a recipient of a full college scholarship. This experience instilled in her a lifelong belief in the power of education and a deep commitment to helping others achieve their academic goals. Camille carried this value throughout her life, always seeking ways to give back and support those striving to have a better life with higher education.
Camille was married to Clifford Kendall until his passing in 2018. Together they built a loving home and raised four sons: Craig (Connie), Curt, Clark (Diane), and Charlie (Becky). Her legacy continues with eleven grandchildren -Chelsea, Melanie, Whitney, Kelly ,Austin, Kara, Ryan, Casey, Megan, Cabell and Cliff as well as eight great-grandchildren who carry forward the values of kindness, generosity, and perseverance that Camille held dear.
An active member of Potomac Presbyterian Church, Camille found strength and purpose in her faith and the community. Her involvement reflected a deep spiritual grounding that guided much of her life’s work and relationships.
Camille was also known for her remarkable artistic talent. Whether through painting or other creative pursuits, she brought beauty into the world with grace and passion. Her artistic talent was not only a personal joy but also a gift shared by many that knew her.
Those who knew Camille remember her as a loving mother, a devoted wife, a gracious grandmother, and a generous contributor to the community. Her warmth touched many lives and left an enduring impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her wish is that instead of flowers, that contributions be made to Potomac Presbyterian Church.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and her core acts of kindness and generosity for generations to come.
A service will be held in her honor on April 27th - her birthday - at 3:00 pm at Potomac Presbyterian Church 10301 River Road Potomac, MD 20854.
A reception reflecting her legacy and life will take place at Congressional Country Club following the service.
