Beloved daughter of James and Mable Tolbert. She was a native of Washington Dc and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School . She enjoyed high school sports and was a good athlete. She went on to study at Winthrop College in South Carolina.
Betty loved to travel and made friends every where she went. She had a special place in her heart for animals and befriended the neighborhood stray cat she named Kit. She always donated to the animal shelters.
Betty is known for her quick wit and great sense of humor. She always liked a good joke. She shared a compassion of boating and fishing with her longtime companion John Dickman.
Betty is survived by her nieces, Nancy Dickman, Terri Dickman-Lewis and nephew Scott O’Connor.
