Alison was a true DC sports fan, from football to baseball, and one if her great joys was attending the 2019 World Series. She was a lover of animals of all types having hamsters, a Guinea pig, dogs and even a hedgehog. As a member of St Columba's church she spent much of her life in the church choir, ringing handbells, and served on the vestry. During the last 10 years of her life, she fought tirelessly in a personal battle with leiomyosarcoma , a rare form of aggressive cancer. Her hope was that her participation in new treatments and clinical trials would help extend lives and support research to find a cure for all those affected.
Services to be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Washington Nationals Philanthropies or The National LeioMyoSarcoma Foundation.
