Walter Edward McDevitt Jr.

Walter enjoyed the past two years of his life at The Seasons in East Greenwich. He was the son of the late Walter E., Sr. and Doris M. (Alarie) McDevitt.

He was employed by the RI Department of Labor and Training for over 40 years, retiring in 2008. Walter was a devoted volunteer at the former Franciscan Chapel in downtown Providence and also at their Bread and Blessing Ministry, feeding the hungry.

Walter was the beloved brother of Paul J. McDevitt (Diane), of North Kingstown, and Martha E. Jones (fiancé Charles Haynes) of East Greenwich. He also leaves 14 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, and 1 great, great niece. Walter was predeceased by his sisters, Eileen Kulisch and Mary Sheila Arnold.

Visiting hours Tuesday, 4 - 7 pm at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, (Rt. 117) Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 am at Saint Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown. Burial to follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
