Born in Providence, Mike graduated from La Salle Academy, Providence College, and Northeastern University College of Pharmacy.
Mike was a talented pharmacist, working most recently for JB Pharmacy & Compounding and Anthony's Pharmacy. Earlier in his career, Mike worked as a nuclear compounding pharmacist. He also had many successful professional years working in retail and long-term care pharmacies, including Simpson’s Pharmacy, CVS, Brooks, Stop & Shop, and Pawtuxet Valley Prescription and Surgical Center.
Mike enjoyed the outdoors, movies, traveling, and family. He often shared the story of his skydiving experience with family and friends. He enjoyed spending holidays and family time with his numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother Jacqueline, Mike is survived by his sister Sharon Quirk Capuano and her husband Paul, and brother Dr. Daniel Quirk and his wife Dr. Catherine Quirk. He is survived by seven nieces and nephews: Marc, Christopher, and Dr. Benjamin Capuano, and Margaret, Cecilia, Grace, and Caroline Quirk.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22 beginning at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 21 Traverse St., Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Michael J. Quirk '78, to the “John F. ‘Jack’ Quirk '50 Scholarship Fund” at La Salle Academy, 612 Academy Avenue, Providence, RI 02908.
