Born in Coventry, RI, she was the daughter of John S. and Mary T. (Rodolewicz) Piasczyk. Joan was a lifelong resident of Coventry, having graduated from Coventry High School in 1953.
Joan was the loving mother of David Jervis (Julie), Debra Chickering (David), Bonnie Jervis (Jim Gomes), and Ethan Jervis, Sr. (Lori). She was the cherished grandmother of Thomas Jervis, Derek Jervis, Jim Caldarone, Laura Caldarone, Ian Chickering, Sarah Chickering, and Ethan Jervis, Jr. She was also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Joan was sister of Stanley Piasczyk. She was preceded in death in death by two sisters, Lodia Bertrand and Valentine Poulin; and two brothers, Henry Piasczyk and John Piasczyk. She was the longtime companion of the late Richard Cady, Sr.
Joan dedicated her working years to the Coventry Credit Union. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star as well as treasurer of the Coventry Centerites reunion committee.
Joan and Richard enjoyed traveling together and spending winters in Davenport, FL. While in Florida, Joan volunteered her time to "Give Kids the World", an organization that helps critically ill children and their families enjoy a cost free vacation.
Funeral services and burial will be private at Joan's request. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to: Give Kids the World, 210 S.
