Edith was the loving mother of Kathleen A. (Burns) Zuercher and her husband Frederick, Jane F. (Burns) Rickey, John W. Burns and his wife Donna, and Robert V. Burns and his wife Karen; cherished grandmother of 14, and great-grandmother of 34.
She was the sister of the late John “Jack” Kelley and Thomas Kelley; grandmother of the late John W. Burns, great-grandmother of the late Alison E. Zuercher; mother-in-law of the late Herbert L. Rickey; sister-in-law of the late Murial Kelley and Diane Kelley.
Edith was the Director of Central Supply at Cranston General Hospital for many years before her retirement. She was most recently a long time resident of La Casa Senior Living in Wakefield where she was very active and served as the treasurer of the association. Edith was also an avid reader, and loved to play Bingo. She loved her family and her dogs, Dolly, Nellie, Pinky and Boo.
A committal service will be held on Friday, March 4th at 10 a.m. in St. Ann Cemetery, 73 Church Street, Cranston. Please meet outside the cemetery gates at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Tomorrow Fund, www.tomorrowfund.org
