Nicola "Nicky" M. Brickley

“Nicky” was born in Wellington, New Zealand and moved to the U.S. as a teenager. After graduating from Boston College and completing a master’s degree in Special Education, Nicky spent thirty years as a special education teacher in Taunton, MA – totally dedicated to her students. After retiring, Nicky continued teaching as a volunteer for a number of years at the East Bay Literacy Volunteers. Always looking for ways to help others, Nicky supported multiple charities. Within the family, she was the official photographer – documenting so many of our lives. Aside from family and volunteering, Nicky enjoyed traveling with her husband Mark across the U.S., Europe, China and Central America. She had many friends – from work, the gym and volunteering.

Nicky is predeceased by her parents Dr. Brian and June Leeming. She leaves her husband Mark, sons Patrick and Michael, with his wife Laura and grandson Grayson. She also leaves her brothers, Simon (and wife Alice), Rupert (Joanne), Nigel (Elizabeth) and Gregory (Pamela).

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 9:00 AM from the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Luke’s Parish, 108 Washington Rd., Barrington. Burial will be at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
