Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she was a thorough New Yorker before relocating to Rhode Island in the early 1960's. Having lived in tenement buildings all her life, Alice truly embraced moving from a fourth floor walkup in the Bronx to a house with a yard and garden. She was a talented artist, enjoyed gardening, and loved animals. She also enjoyed watching movies, especially anything with Robert Redford in it, and was a huge fan of "Columbo", "The Rockford Files", and "Murder She Wrote". Her nonjudgemental attitude and mastery of the deadpan "one liner" endeared her to many who came into contact with her. Before retiring, she was a fifteen year employee of R.I. Hospital. The kindness and generosity of her neighbors enabled Alice to continue living in her home as long as possible before she moved to Atria in 2014.
Predeceased by her sister Mary Larney, she is survived by her children, Charles of West Warwick, Mary Lord of Nashville, TN, Mark of Brookline, MA, and Adam of Nashville, TN as well as three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Services and burial will be private. Contributions may be made in Alice's memory to the C Diff Foundation 6931 Ian Court #14 New Port Richey, FL 34653
