Vivian Josephine Kallas, age 82, of Warren, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Vivian was born on March 21, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan to her loving parents Raymond and Genevieve Nowicki.
Vivian was an incredibly kind and giving person. She put everyone before herself, especially, her family. She adored every moment spent with her grandchildren whether they were going out to eat, shopping or just being around each other. She would never leave the room without repeating, “I love you”. Almost every year she would go with her daughter Salene to the Novi Women’s Show. Her humor was unrivaled and she could make anyone laugh. The house was always filled with laughter and Elvis music played a little too loud. When relaxing at home she would sit in her favorite recliner, playing solitaire on her Iphone and watching Perry Mason and Buzzr. She absolutely loved her sweets and snacks, specifically her Snickers, Snaps, and her Starbucks coffee. Baking was one of her favorite ways to incorporate her love for her family and her love for sweets. She would bake everyone’s birthday cakes, decorated and shaped into perfect creations. The holiday pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas were always up to her as well. The kindness she had was extended not just to the people she was around but to the animals as well. She loved feeding the squirrels and they would wait patiently for her to bring out the walnuts she got them. Her favorite animal was always a cardinal. In the 1980’s Vivian was a part of the P.L.A.V. Post 10, Hamtramck, Michigan, where she would volunteer to sell poppies and would frequently visit the VA hospital.
Vivian is the beloved wife of 49 years of the late Louis Kallas. She is the loving mother of Melissa (Jeffery) O’Meara and Salene (Richard) Michalak. The treasured grandma of Meghan O’Meara, Collin O’Meara, Brad O’Meara, and Richelle Michalak.
A visitation for Vivian will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a celebration of life at 7:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan 48088. The family encourages guests to stay and enjoy refreshments with them during the visitation.
