Valeria Marie Kirby

Valeria Marie Kirby, age 90 of Warren, died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was born October 19, 1928 in McGregor, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Wilfred and the late Lorraine (nee: St. Louis) Dupuis.Following her entry into the world, Valeria's parents made the eventual decision to relocate to the states and chose Michigan as their new home. Specifically, they settled in the suburbs of Detroit in a city by the name of Warren. Once matured and in her senior year of high school, the city was firmly ensconced in its second iteration and Valeria became a proud graduate of the longstanding East Detroit High School.It wasn't long after graduating that Valeria, already immersed in a loving relationship with her young beau, Elza, decided to join him in marriage at the young age of 18. The two lovebirds would build upon the comforts of home & hearth, raise five beautiful children, and grow deeper in love with each passing day. Though the primary work that Valeria took seriously and cared most deeply about centered around her role as a homemaker and Mom, she did manage to spend some time working outside of the home as well in the Housekeeping Dept. at South Macomb Hospital in Warren. When all of her responsibilities had been met and she found some time for entertainment, that often meant it was time to head down to the bowling lanes for a bit of rip-roarin' fun and some friendly competition. There's never a bad time to be had when you're sharing it on the bowling alley with family and friends,…and Valeria knew it well. Valeria will also be remembered for her incredible love of animals, those furry friends that warm our lives and steal our hearts,…just like that of her dogs that she adored immensely. Known for her support of the many animals in the rescue realm, she prided herself in the fact that her puppies were just that,…rescue dogs that she fell in love with and in whom she decided to provide a home.But of all she held precious, nothing could hold a candle to the love and memories nurtured amongst the family and friends she held most dear. Especially with those sweetest cherubs, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Valeria lived for each cherished moment she was given to share their company,…and their hearts. They were truly the light of her life. Valeria was the beloved wife of the late Elza, and dear mother of Charles (Shari) Kirby, Charlene Cantu, Lonnie Kirby, Keith Kirby, and Craig (Robin) Kirby. Loving grandmother of Christa (Julio) Rodriguez, Amy (Mike) Webb, Debra (Anthony) Damioli, Kristopher (Yionne) Cantu, Julian Kirby, Dusty Kirby, Lindsay (Nick) Penix, Joseph Kirby, Alicia Kirby, and great-grandmother of Jordan, Nicholas, Brianna, Vanessa, Ava, Alexandra, and Dominic.
