Thomas Hill, age 69, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at his home in Shelby Township, Michigan. Thomas was born August 2, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Arthur J. Hill and the late Louise (nee: Lelli) Hill. He was raised in Detroit and following his schooling was called to serve his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. As luck would have it, Tom would not see any combat but provided music for the troops playing the saxophone in the Army band.Following his military service, Tom returned to the Detroit area and continued his studies at Wayne State University where he earned his Doctorate degree in Pharmacology. Tom worked for many years as a pharmacist with Walgreens Drug stores.When Tom was not working, he lived the consummate bachelor's life enjoying riding motorcycles, traveling, visiting the casinos, and day trading the stock market. It was Tom's way of life,...choosing to live on his own terms, having to answer to no one.Thomas was the beloved son of the late Arthur and Louise Hill. Dear brother to the late Arthur Jr. (Alice) Hill, Uncle of Connie (Stephen) Sifton, and Victoria Hill, and Great Uncle of Henry, Joshua, and Alice Sifton. Visitation for Thomas will be held Thursday, May 19th from 5-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Military Committal Services will be rendered Friday, 11:00 am at White Chapel Cemetery, 18201 E. Long Lake Road in Troy.
