Thomas Alan Grady, age 53, died Saturday, July 16, 2016 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Tom was born September 17, 1962 at Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit, son of the late Richard Joseph and the late Gladys Elaine (nee: Steiger) Grady.Tom was raised in Ferndale and graduated from Hazel Park High School. Following high school, Tom would find employment as a truck driver delivering produce. On one special day, a delivery to the KFC Restaurant at 8 mile & Gratiot would prove to be the best and most memorable delivery of his life. It was on this momentous day that he met his future wife and love of his life, Sandy VanAssche. Tom and Sandy were married on January 19, 1991 at a Methodist Church in Ferndale. Together they were blessed to welcome daughter, JamieLee into their lives and home.Tom continued to work as a truck driver, utilizing his skills at various local trucking companies. He had been employed by ABF Trucking for the last 17 years, and was a proud member of the local Teamsters.Tom was not one to ride a bicycle and was often heard to say he "Only owned things that had wheels and a motor." And of all these machines, one of Tom's most prized possessions was his new, blue Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed time spent camping with family and friends. He also enjoyed drag racing, and will always be remembered for the time he entered a drag race for RV's,... and Won!Tom was the beloved husband of Sandra Lee. Beloved father of JamieLee Grady. Dear brother of Richard J. (Patricia) Grady and Larry (Beverly Ann) Grady. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Joseph Sr. and Gladys Elaine (nee: Steiger) Grady.Visitation for Tom will be held Tuesday, July 19th from 3 - 9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Road) in Warren. His Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, 11:00 am at the funeral home.
