Theresa Bernadette Laskowski, age 88 of Roseville, died Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was born January 20, 1928 in Detroit, daughter of the late Leo and the late Anna (nee: Kwietniewski) Baranski. It was at the young age of 22 that Theresa's life was wonderfully changed when she promised herself in marriage to the dashing Eugene, the man with whom she would spend the next 66 years growing deeper in love with each passing day. It began with that walk down the aisle on July 22, 1950 at St. Josephat Catholic Church in Detroit, a journey filled with many joys of the love they shared and the blessings of raising 4 beautiful children together. Theresa poured her heart and soul into her family and doing her best to care for their every need. The return on her investment was truly felt as she managed to raise some great kids,…of course, with Eugene by her side. Extending her utmost in keeping it all together, there were some "escapes" that Theresa held precious in bringing a sense of balance to it all. In the early days, she loved to hit the Bingo Halls and hope for a winning card. Though a winner didn't always come, the winning aspect was in the friendships she enjoyed along the way and the many wonderful memories made. As time passed and the gambling world made its way to the Motor City, Theresa's penchant for Bingo soon gained a friend through her many trips to the casinos in and around the state. Whether it was a trip downtown, or a bus ride with fellow gambling enthusiast's, Theresa simply found great enjoyment in giving Ol' Lady Luck a run for her money.Theresa was also known for her love of sports, especially when it entailed many of her Mitten Regulars like the Tiger's, Lion's, Piston's, or her ever-popular, U of M football teams. Each, in their own right, brought her countless hours of watching pleasure and helped to feed that sporting appetite she held so passionately. But when it came to the "real" passion in life, Theresa lit up like a Christmas tree each time she partook of her favorite comfort food, the iconic Belgian Waffle,…of course, lathered in strawberries,…and just a wee bit of whipped cream to top it off. Nothing says "tasty" quite like the fruity, creamy and syrupy splendor that Theresa enjoyed every chance she got. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Theresa leaves behind a storehouse of wonderful memories and moments shared with her loved ones,…especially her cherubs, the 12 grand and 14 great-grandchildren that enveloped her heart. For they, and all who were blessed to be touched by this special lady, may her memory be as sweet as those delectable Belgian Waffles she enjoyed,…and may her legacy live on with each remembrance embraced. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Theresa was the beloved wife of Eugene. Dearest mother of Daniel (Debbie) Laskowski, Donna (David) Croke, Diane (James) Quaderer, and Duane (Kathy) Laskowski. Loving grandmother of Kim (Scott), Debbie (Richie), Julie, Mike (Margo), Jeffrey, Steven (Rachel), Stacey (Todd), Ryan, Natalie, Melissa (Jordan), James, and Theresa. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Jenna, Justin, Nathan, Meghan, Kaylie, Riley, Aiden, Cody, Aubrey, Drew, Gavin, Mason, Noah, and Olivia. Theresa was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur and Ervin Baranski. Visitation for Theresa will be held Monday, November 7th from 3-9 pm, with a 6:30 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.
