

Shirley Ann Carver-Hill, age 59 of New Baltimore, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Shirley was born June 17, 1948 in Davey, West Virginia the daughter of the late William David Carver and the late Maxine (nee: Mitchell) Carver. Shirley was raised in West Virginia and moved to Michigan when she was 16. She married her first husband and raised her three children in Dearborn Heights and Hazel Park. Shirley worked for many years for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Southfield as a customer service representative. Shirley was a 20 year cancer survivor, who loved life, riding roller coasters, or just enjoying the outdoors and nature. Her family remembers her as a loving and giving person who cherished her grandchildren, and occasionally satisfied her sweet tooth. Shirley never divulged her secret candy recipe, which she promised her family would always stay with her. Survivors include her husband Robert Hill. She is the loving mother of Michael Mallek Jr., Toni (David) Nelson, and Barbara (Chris) Thomas, Step-mother of Greg (Nicole) Hill, and Tara (Julian) Trevino, and the dear sister of Emma Jean (Jerry) Adkins, and the late James, Everett, Charles, Jessie, and Gary. Shirley is also survived by nine grandchildren. Visitation for Shirley will be Tuesday 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). Funeral Services for Mrs. Hill will be Wednesday 11:00 am, at the Funeral Home. Officiating the Funeral Service will be Rev. Pastor Angelo Fleece. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
