Ronald James Pettke

Ronald James Pettke, age 80, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Ron was born June 27, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Joseph Michael Pettke and the late Ann (nee: Lieder) Pettke.Ron was raised on the eastside of Detroit, and following high school was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his two years of service to his nation, Ron returned home with an Honorable Discharge and soon found work at General Motors Fisher Body. Ron worked for Fisher Body as a Design Engineer for many years until his retirement.Ron never was one to sit quietly or still... he always needed to be doing something. Following a few years of retirement, Ron returned to the workforce driving for Medical Transport companies. Ron relished his time spent traveling with patients to their appointments around town. Ron will forever be missed for his pointed opinion and his love for the United States Military.Ronald Pettke was the beloved husband of the late Sharon, and loving father of Denise (Mark Petz) Price, Dennis (Becky) Pettke, Diane (Dave) Testori and the late Vince Pettke. Father-in-law of Shirley Pettke. He was the dear brother of Eleanore (Richard) Hamlin, MaryAnn (Donald) Dely, and the late Marvin Pettke. Ron is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Visitation for Mr. Pettke will be Sunday, February 28th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road). Mr. Pettke will lie in state from 9:30am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Louis Catholic Church, 24415 Crocker Blvd., Clinton Township. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Ron's cousin, Reverend Fr.
