Robert Hoffman, age 79, of Warren, passed away on March 29, 2025. He was the loving husband of Carol Hoffman for 56 years, and a devoted father to Gina Hoffman, Timothy Hoffman, and Thomas (Jessica) Hoffman. Robert was a beloved grandpa to Roselyn, Brandon, Dylan, Danny, and Lily, who will forever cherish his memory. Loving great-grandpa. He was the cherished brother of Theodore (the late Janet) Hoffman Jr., James (Toni) Hoffman, Chris (Joseph) Walding, and Phil (Ravena) Hoffman. Caring son-in-law of Mary Konye and the late George Konye. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Robert was predeceased by his beloved dog Holly.
Robert had a passion for working on cars and spent 51 years as a Transmission Technician at General Motors. Robert had a love for tinkering even in his spare time and loved his black truck more than anything. Though Robert enjoyed his work, he was at his happiest with his family. He was a homebody at heart, and the Hoffman household was always a place where the family could gather and enjoy each other’s company. Robert’s favorite dining spots when he did go out were Buddy’s Pizza and Ruby Tuesday, where he could often be found enjoying a meal with those he loved.
In the earlier years, Robert enjoyed boat trips to Boblo Island with the family. He also loved having the kids help him with various projects around the house. No matter what was happening in his life, Robert would always drop everything to be there for his kids at any of their events, nothing was more important to him than being there for them.
Known for his sense of humor, Robert loved to joke around with family and friends. He would often jokingly respond to people with his signature phrase, “hugatuna,” bringing laughter wherever he went. Robert was also a longtime fan of the Detroit Pistons, going to games when he could. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Robert will be missed dearly.
A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, April 2nd from 2pm to 9pm with a 6pm Rosary at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren, Michigan 48088. Robert will lie instate Thursday, April 3rd from 9:30am until time of Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families, 8075 Ritter Street, Center Line, Michigan 48015. Burial to take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
