Renee Dawn Ross, age 69 of Warren, died Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren. She was born March 1, 1950 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, daughter of Jack Robert and Grace Marion (nee: Retkowski) Dumas.
Renee will be well-regarded as a hard worker, one who was focused on a job well done. She was task driven with her eye on the prize, and the results of her efforts told the story of her dedication. Like most of us, Renee worked hard to earn those relaxing and refreshing times, moments that were often spent somewhere near the water. Some may say that Renee was a “water sign,”…always finding extreme joy and pleasure when enveloped by its dual qualities of being both fun and meditative. And though the Mitten State offers a plethora of water choices, the beauty and majesty of Hubbard Lake seemed to call her name quite often,…and, without question, was truly her sanctuary.
For those alone times of pleasure, you might have caught Renee exercising her artistic side in a little bit of rock painting. She had her own unique flair of turning simple, drab rocks into things of beauty through her creative touch and imagination. It was a special gift and expression of the artist within.
Renee also loved playing cards. Though the choice of game to be played was really of no consequence, she simply loved the gathering of family and/or friends around the table, sharing in a bit of friendly competition, and maybe enjoying an adult beverage or two. Nothing says fun like congregating around a table with some cards being slung,…and hopefully achieving victory at the end. Yet the prize was always the joy of being together making memories, and Renee ate it up!
Yet of all the joys that filled her heart and soul, nothing could come close to the delights she garnered from those precious cherubs, her grandchildren. Truly, they were the light of her life and came with an infusion of youthfulness that kept her young, vital, and full of verve. But whether it was the grandchildren, her two boys, or any of the extended loved ones that were part of her life, family meant everything to Renee as she journeyed through life. They truly gave special meaning to life and she was immeasurably grateful for each moment they shared together. Renee will be missed immensely by all those who were blessed by her touch. May she rest in peace.
Renee was the beloved mother of Kenneth Wables and Jason Wables. Dearest sister of Dale (Mary) Dumas, Michelle (John) Piridnia, Margaret (Bill) Braamse, the late John Dumas, and the late Guy Dumas. Renee was also the loving grandmother of Lucy, Cooper, and Sullivan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren.
