Phyllis Kay Midgett

Phyllis Kay Midgett, age 78, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at her home in Warren, Michigan. Phyllis was born February 6, 1937 in Ludington, Michigan, daughter of the late Fred and the late Edith (nee: Binding) Schumacher.As a young woman, Phyllis would hear the warm weather of the south calling her name...and eventually made her home in both Texas and Alabama before moving back to Michigan.Phyllis worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years both at Beaumont Hospital and Crittenton Hospital throughout her career. She also served as a supervisor for handicapped children.As a young woman, Phyllis enjoyed playing soothing music on her clarinet, and also enjoyed showing off her athletic abilities spending countless hours playing softball and volleyball. In her later years, she could often be found exercising her skills as a seamstress,...yet nothing could top the amazing aroma that emanated from her kitchen when she was preparing many of her tasty meals. Phyllis was the beloved mother of Lisa (Mark) Daniels, and the late Mark Midgett. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Karysa (Jamar Byrd) LaCross, Samantha LaCross, and Alex Daniels.Private family arrangements have taken place.Please share memories at Phyllis' memory book above.
