Patricia Lynn Klann

Patricia Lynn Klann, age 64, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at her home in Warren, Michigan. Patricia was born February 26, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late William Howard Umlauf and the late Kathrine Dorthy (nee: Salata) Umlauf.Patricia was raised in Detroit and graduated from Osborn High School in 1972. Following high school, Patricia started working and later married her high school sweetheart, Allan Klann on December 14, 1974.Patricia and Allan first settled in Detroit and later moved to Warren where the couple would continue to live and raise their family. Allan worked for the City of Warren Fire Department and Patricia worked at Center Line Schools. She first worked with Tupperware. As her children started school, she became a lunch room monitor and, later, a teacher's aide. Lastly, she would enjoy her position within the Early Childhood Development Department. She retired just a few years ago.Patricia was a devout Jehovah's Witness and regularly shared as a Pioneer at the South Warren congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was very passionate and made many friends there. When she was not working or sharing in the ministry, Patricia loved to tend to her flowers and garden. Additionally, she enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. Her vacations were always predicated by the school year breaks which also worked well with her children's school breaks. These family travels took her all over the country, from visiting relatives in the upper peninsula to many beautiful parts of the United States . After retirement, Pat and Al were able to travel even more. She thoroughly enjoyed her travels to Myrtle Beach, New Orleans, Texas, Arizona, and most recently Augusta, Georgia.Patricia was also very athletic playing racquetball and golf. She was a passionate competitor. For many years she competed in racquetball tournaments and also worked at the Warren Racquetball Center reception desk. Pat later became a very good golfer, sometimes beating Al. In addition to sports, Patricia loved her dog, horses, and surprisingly, bats. Patricia was the beloved wife of Allan Klann, and the dear mother of Christopher (LaToya) Klann, and Stephanie Klann. She was the cherished grandmother of Jake & Evan, and the beloved sister of Kathleen Umlauf (Charlie Hicks), Sandy Kapel, and Michelle (Fred) Kosinski. Also surviving are many family members and friends. A Memorial Visitation for Patricia will be held Saturday October 6, 2018, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren. The Life Celebration will begin at 4pm.Memorial donations appreciated to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, the American Heart Association, or the ASPCA.
