He cherished coaching his boys' little league teams and attending their high school and college football games, creating lasting memories along the way.
For almost four decades, Michael thrived as a dedicated salesman, spending 20 years at Cech Corporation and his final 18 years with D.C. Martin & Sons Scales, a journey that took him to Grand Rapids. It was there that he met Donna, who became his best friend and constant companion.
He was a die-hard fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions, rejoicing in their victories, especially when the Lions defeated the Kansas City Chiefs this past Thursday. Bowling and golfing were favorite pastimes, and he participated annually in the U of D Golf Outing. He also had a fondness for classic movies and TV shows, with "Get Smart" being a particular favorite.
Above all, Michael's deepest love was reserved for his grandchildren. Despite the challenges of his declining health, he remained keenly interested in their music, sporting events, theater performances, and extracurricular activities.
Michael was known for his gentle and patient nature. He had an uncanny ability to see the silver lining in any situation, always embracing a positive outlook on life. Simply, Mike just liked to have fun.
