It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael T. Kelley, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend. Michael, age 67, of Clinton Township, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Michael lived his life to its fullest, especially when it came to his hobbies. He found immense happiness on the golf course, where he loved to play at River Valley in Gladwin, often with a sense of humor and a playful spirit—sometimes even crashing a golf cart or two along the way. His love for the game was matched only by his love of the times shared with friends and coworkers, with whom he frequently shared rounds of golf. Whether on the course or at the bowling alley, Michael’s lighthearted nature and zest for life made everyone want to be around him. Michael was a regular at Aspen’s Restaurant on Hall Road, where he enjoyed visiting with friends and playing Keno, always betting on the birthdays of his family members. His family often asked when he played if he had won using the digits of their birthday.
Those who knew Michael knew he had a heart of gold. He never had a bad word to say about anyone, and he treated everyone like family. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Whether someone was in need, Michael would be the first to offer a helping hand or words of comfort. Michael was a proud and loving father who cherished time spent with his daughters, recalling fond memories of trips to Cedar Point, though he was always happiest during the simple moments being at home together. The holidays were especially dear to him for that very reason. Christmas was a time of reminding everyone how much he loved them but also for his tradition of finding the best post-holiday deals, including hunting for candles in his family’s favorite scents.
Professionally, Michael worked for many years as a machinist at Kasper; thereafter, he grew his skills as a buyer forming fundamental relationships, he and his colleagues continued to be a tight-knit group throughout his life. Michael always prioritized his family and made time to attend events for his children and enjoy his favorite activities when he could.

Dear brother of Patty (Larry) Nemshick, Patrick “Skip” (Claudette) Kelley, and Chris (Diane) Kelley. Cherished uncle of Jennifer Kennedy, Michael Nemshick, Colleen Kelley-Porretta, Johnny Kelley, Christopher Kelley and Rachel Reis. Beloved great uncle of Aiden, Lucas, Nathan, Brianna, and Hailey.
