Mary was born and lived in Hamtramck Michigan for 70 years. She has been a devoted Catholic all her life, first attending Saint Florian Catholic Church in Hamtramck, then Saint Martin DePorres Church in Warren. She worked many years for General Motors as a print photo operator. She made the decision to retire early to care for her elderly mother. Mary is best remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her kind heart in which she always put others before herself and her continued support of many charities and church organizations. She also will be remembered as always having a smile on her face and her witty personality. When her daughter moved to Warren, she was happy to join them and continue her life serving her family. She helped raise many grandchildren and devoted her life to helping maintain the family household.
You would never find Mary sitting down as she was always very active and hard-working. Beyond devoting herself to her family she devoted herself to many pets, including her best Friend Bella, her Lhasa apso, who she took care of as a human for 18 years. Bella preceded her in death this past December. Mary will be forever remembered as a very active grandmother and great grandma and a cherished friend to all. Anyone that knew Mary and spoke with her will forever remember her for her kind heart, her sense of humor and her warm smile. She was the heart and soul of her family and will be truly missed and forever loved.
Mary was the loving mother of Barbara (David) Sebell and the late Linda (Ted) Liska (Miel). Cherished grandmother of Douglas (Christina) Liska, Lindsey (Andy) Lietz, and Kelly Sebell. Adored great-grandmother of Sofia Liska, Ella Liska, Benjamin Lietz, and Olivia Lietz. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Bennie Miel.
