Linda Marie Braun, age 68, died Saturday July 6, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born February 8, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Anthony Tilotti and the late Barbara (nee: La Rose) Tilotti.
Linda was raised in Warren, Michigan and was a 1969 graduate of Cousino High School. She later attended Macomb Community College in Warren. While on a trip with her high school friends, by chance luck, Linda would meet a handsome young man by the name of Richard Braun at a dance in Caseville, Michigan and the love affair began.
Linda and Richard were married and later settled on Detroit's east side. Linda would work in the local church day-care center and also volunteered and worked as a classroom "Mom" at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School in Harper Woods. As Linda and Richard's second daughter was born, the family settled in Warren where Linda became the consummate "stay at home" Mom. Her children remember growing up in a wonderful home where their mother doted on her daughters. Every birthday, holiday, and special occasion was celebrated fully. Linda would sew costumes and make crafts for the girls, a trait she carried on even with her grandchildren. Linda’s number one priority was to spoil and spend time with her grandchildren. She had special tea party sleepovers, cookie decorating and baking sessions, game playing, coloring, Easter egg hunts, and so many more traditions that she shared with her grandchildren.
By all accounts, Linda was known to her family and friends as the go-to family caterer... she could have opened her own in-home catering and cake baking business with all her cooking skills and utensils. Linda was revered for her wonderful food and elaborate cakes she made for every family member's special occasions. At times she had many, many requests for her delicious cakes, and she loved every minute of making her beautiful creations.
One of Linda's greatest traits was her over and beyond thoughtful and selfless personality... she always put others before herself and was keen to listen to other people's needs and concerns. Her grandchildren believed their grandmother was a mind reader because she just seemed to know what they needed before they knew they needed it. Linda held a deep devotion to her family and additionally cherished her longtime friends, and girlfriends. She was welcomed into a friend’s card club group over 40 years prior, which evolved into a girl’s monthly dinner get-together group, which was sometime referred to as a “Cackle and Eat Club.” She also enjoyed playing “Words with Friends” with many friend’s and was a great competitor. Her thoughtfulness extended beyond her own family, which meant you would always be remembered with a card, flowers, or a well thought out gift on every occasion. She would also help others in any way she could. Linda left everyone too soon but her caring, loving, warm heart left a beautiful indelible mark on everyone she had come to know.
Linda was the beloved wife of Richard Braun and was the dear mother of Kelly (Alan) Thibodeau, and Katie (Matt) Auffenorde. She is the cherished grandmother of Jared, Jenna, Jacey, Lyla, Celia, Beckett, and the dear sister of Dean Tilotti, Debbie Tilotti (Ron Kozel), Rob Tilotti, Tom (Jane) Tilotti, Paul Tilotti, and the late Timothy Tilotti. Linda is further survived by many loving relatives and friends. All of whom will miss her dearly.
Visitation for Mrs. Braun will be held Tuesday, July 9th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile) in Warren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
