Leonard was born in Detroit, Michigan, and proud of his Polish heritage. On June 30, 1999, he married the love of his life, Janet, and celebrated 23 years together with their blended family. Leonard was known as a dedicated worker; he did not let his age stop him when he went back to school at age 50 to earn his Associate’s degree from Macomb Community College and his Bachelor’s degree from Rochester College, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Leonard previously worked for Lucent Enterprise and Nokia. In 2012, he returned to work for TACOM as a technical writer for the past 10 years, and was awarded the Civilian Medal for his outstanding work by the Army.
Leonard had a passion for woodwork, working on cars, communications, and was a handy craftsman. In his leisure time, he enjoyed playing the saxophone and was an avid jazz enthusiast. He loved to be in the outdoors no matter what season, and held all of Michigan close to his heart. Leonard loved his family more than anything, he was dedicated to taking care of them with his whole heart.
Leonard will be remembered for his hard work, kindness, and skillful talents; as well as being a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather.
He will forever be missed.
Leonard was the beloved husband of Janet. Loving father of Jenny (Brian) Thomas, Joseph Krawiec Jr., Jill (Anthony) Aquilio, Michael (Nichole) Krawiec, and Crystal (Matthew Kahn) Weekley. Adored grandfather of Zachary, Tyler, Mackenzie, Jacob Charlotte, Lilly, Nathan, Preston, Trenton, and Ember.
