My Dear Sonny, .. How you will be missed!!  Living across the street from you and our sweet Jean for  46 years... how will we do that ? You were the best neighbors EVER!!   So good to my kids while they were growing up.  AND then my grandchildren.   I will miss cooking dinner for you every Thursday.  Every time I make breaded pork chops from now on I will be sad because you loved them soooo much!!!  We will miss you very much.  Give my Jean a big hug for me. 🤗🤗😘😘


I was Sonny and Mrs. Beverly's Pastor for over 13 years (from 1980 - 1993).  For Christmas of 1980, Mrs. Beverly had a set of 14-ct. gold initials made to wear on my dress-shirt collar.  I have never worn a dress-shirt since that did not have those initials on the collar.  Sonny was such a pleasure to fellowship with.  I loved talking about our hot rods and our wives.  My wife joined Mrs. Beverly last December, and now Sonny is with his Lord and his beloved Beverly.

As a young girl, I spent many days (and nights) with this wonderful family.  I  would often go to  the race track and policeman's field Day with the family! And their Baptist church.. ❣️Great memories ....

Larry and I had a lot in common, I think we loved the hobby of restoring, and painting cars. I moved to Florida in 87, and every trip up to visit the family, Larry was on the list to stop and see. We had a special feeling, and respect for each other, and I will see you again old dirty bird, as we nick named him . We always talked about being the same age, and all the interest we had in common. I know when someone passes, there is nothing but praise, but in Larry's case he deserves every bit of it, a  wonderful, and kind person, and best friend.   R.I.P.


Working with Larry was always an experience.  Larry could be telling one of his way-back- when, stories in the scout car,  and the shift would end before the story was done. We would go home and come back to work the next day and Larry would start his story back up right where he left off the night before ,

So close yet so far. We were supposed to have lunch today. (Thursday 12/23) will miss our chats.  You are now spending Christmas with your Beverly. RIP my friend.

My wife Sandy and i are very sorry to hear of the passing  of Larry.    we met years ago at the antique and hot rod breakfasts at ram' s horn restaurant in rochester.     We were also great fan's of bluegrass music and would see larry at every local bluegrass concert.    Larry sent us many funny emails over the years.    Larry and i hit it off from the day we met and we will miss him, he was a wonderful Christian man.    Our Prayers are with the family.     Don & Sandy Olson, Oakland Mi USA

The meaning of this man , his beautiful wife and his daughter Shelia,  her husband and his brother Jerry Byrd was by far the greatest memory I have. Together we all come together and formed and completed a family like no other. Victoria Jean was that blessing for us all. I can't begin to thank you all enough for allowing me and my son become part of your lives. Just to think it all started with grandpa( Jerry Byrd) . He blessed many with one jester of advice and with a doubt in my heart I knew he was 100% right and from his heart that lead to a beautiful family that brought us much closer then the average family. I'm grateful for these things 🙏 and blessed as well. The best part was completing a family's heart and home and giving life meaning in a way that not everyone could or would do. I knew this was the best thing and way to go , once I met them all . When Jerry ( grandpa) came to me about this I cried . Hurtful and tears of joy. It turned out to be the greatest situation ever. Thank you for all you did/ done to make life beautiful... loving and missing you was daily but now even more so. Forever you all are special in my heart as well as my son Colton Robertson too. R.I.P Uncle Sonny.. your mark on this earth is known , loved and respected ..
