Kristen Marie McVeigh

Kristen Marie McVeigh, age 16 of Sterling Heights, died suddenly at her home on July 15, 2011. Kristen was born August 18, 1994 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of James McVeigh and Cheryl (nee: Banish) McVeigh. Kristen was raised in Sterling Heights and was soon to be a senior at Warren Cousino High School. While at Cousino Kristen excelled on the Junior Varsity Soccer team, and also was a member of the National Technical Honor Society at the Career Prep Center in Sterling Heights. Kristen aspired to one day become a physician anesthesiologist. Summertime for Kristen was centered around her best friends and having fun at the many summer events and fireworks. During the winter Kristen inherited her fathers and uncles passion for snowmobiling. She began riding on the back of her fathers snow machine and progressed to riding her own 800cc snow machine. Also while at home she doted on and deeply loved her little brother Tyler, whom she would spend any available time with. Kristen was a fun loving and very active young woman who will be greatly missed by her many loving family members and friends. Kristen is survived by her parents James & Cheryl McVeigh, and her younger brother Tyler McVeigh. She was the beloved granddaughter of John (the late Maureen) McVeigh, and Patricia (the late Larry) Banish. Further surviving are her aunts and uncles. John (Jody) McVeigh, Helen (Marty) Klingert, Kate McVeigh, Dave (Gayle) Banish, Donna (Randy) Pariseau, and Karen (Jon) Bratton. Cousins surviving Kristen include; John, David, Brian, Christine, Kevin, Andrew, Kyle, and Sarah. Visitation for Kristen will be held Tuesday 3-9pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). Kristen will lie in state Wednesday 9am at St. Blas Catholic Church, 12151 15 Mile Road in Sterling Heights, until the time of the Funeral Mass at 9:30am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Rev.
