Kathleen R. Burger, 69, of Sterling Heights, passed away on November 20, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Warren, Michigan, to the late Peter and Iverne VanDerHeyden, Kathleen lived a life full of love, service, and joy, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and strength.
Kathleen’s greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her home, often affectionately referred to as “Kathy’s Fun Land,” was always a place of warmth, laughter, and adventure. Kathleen’s energy and enthusiasm knew no bounds—whether she was cleaning out the basement, planning future projects, crafting with her grandkids, or simply enjoying a day out shopping, she was always busy and always thinking of ways to make life more enjoyable for those around her. Despite her own health struggles, Kathleen remained positive and determined, continuing to go camping each year, shopping on Black Friday, and attending family celebrations, graduations, and band concerts. She cherished every moment spent with those she loved, always placing the highest value on being present for her family and friends.
Kathleen will be remembered as a kind-hearted, humble, and loving woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of many years, Daniel; her children, Jennifer (Jon) Nader, Sandra (Jon) Benavides, Sherri (Dan) Klenczar, and Daniel (Rose) Burger; her grandchildren, Bethany (William) MacGregor, Jason Snyder, Joshua Klenczar, Julia Klenczar, and Jacob Klenczar; and her great-grandchild, Ophelia Jacey MacGregor.
