Joyce Peck, age 67 of Warren, and formerly of Algonac, Michigan, died Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Autumn Woods Healthcare Facility in Warren. She was born Joyce Ann Smith, June 30, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late John Smith and the late Josephine (nee: Barlow) Smith.Joyce was raised in Birmingham, Michigan, and graduated from Birmingham Groves High School. She later married and treasured her role as a "Stay at Home Mom," raising her two daughters in Algonac, Michigan. While Joyce's daughters were young, she became very active as a volunteer with their activities including her involvement with the Girl Scouts of America, where she proudly achieved the level of District Leader.Joyce also cherished every minute spent with her daughters and grandchildren. When her children had breaks from school, the family enjoyed traveling around America with their "pop-up" trailer. Amidst the fun they had and the sights they saw, an interesting milestone came in the fact that their trips and vacation highlights included visiting all of the 48 contiguous states in our union. Quiet time for Joyce was spent crafting,...of which the many years found her becoming quite the accomplished painter. Her daughters jokingly remember their mother as not being much of a chef, and laughed because she loved take-out with Pizza and Chinese Food.Joyce is survived by her cherished daughters, Jennifer (John) Ivinson, and Lauren (Rob) Tori. She was the loving Grammie of Jonathan, Josie, Scott, Anthony, Emily, Steven, and is the dear sister of Joan Sanner, and Joel (Cathy) Smith. Arrangements have been entrusted to D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, Warren Michigan. Please share memories of Joyce at her memory book.
